  1. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
Additional Details:
Scoop: Simply put, the Caps are tired of Kuznetsov’s antics. From being one of the only NHL players to test positive for Covid-19 twice this season, to his four-year suspension from international hockey after testing positive for cocaine, the time is right for change. Kuznetsov is unquestionably a talented player – see his Conn Smythe-worthy playoff run in 2018 – but an inconsistent one. His contract will be difficult to move, but perhaps less so after the Caps pay his $5 million signing bonus due in July. -Seravalli
WSH
  1. Kane, Evander
Additional Details:
Scoop: Doug Wilson is navigating choppy waters in the Bay Area. Sources indicate significant friction built up between Kane and a number of his teammates last season, frustration that was expressed clearly to management in exit interviews. The trouble is Kane is also coming off the best season of his career: 32 goal and 40 assist pace over an 82-game season. He is one of the best at his position with a relentless forechecking style – and he’s signed to a contract that is commensurate with that production. We’ll see where this goes. -Seravalli

i personally think its a fair trade BUT that being said these articles on Kuzy are a dime a dozen they always claim " Simply put, the Caps are tired of Kuznetsov’s antics." but refuse to give a source or even one person that said it. for example "Sources indicate significant friction built up between Kane and a number of his teammates last season, frustration that was expressed clearly to management in exit interviews" in the Kuzy situation there arent any players voicing frustrations and management might be frustrated but hes not the only reason they could be mad.... i would just like to see proof that they "tired" of Kuzyantics.... or a better explanation of what that actually means. im sure the are also tired of Wilson antics

I'd rather keep Kane to be honest.

I get the feeling it's Kane and Couture not getting along and I'd trade Cooch much quicker than Kane in that situation

Who gives a flying flip about his cocaine situation

Seriously.

It did noone harm and was excessively harsh

NHL fans are such drama vampires sometimes

One step out of "bounds" and people go nuts

It's funny how Russian and POC players get disproportionately harsh responses too; wheeler and radulov both left teams abruptly for instance

But rads got 10x the negativity for it

Don't get me started on Ho-Sang sleeping in once as a 20 year old that was one of the dumbest and most egregious sagas in NHL culture history

Yeesh already 🙄

The NHL is such militaristic white bread malarkey

My guess is Doug is too attached to Cooch to trade him even though I would personally be very interested in moving him ASAP. Of course I could be wrong, but I'm not sure I see it happening realistically. Who knows though.

I don't think the NHL takes much of a position on sandwiches.
