Respectfully, not sure how Copley is a proven backup since he hasn't played an NHL game in the past 2 years. I would swap Hagelin for Engvall straight up if it wasn't for the cap hit but Toronto can't afford Hagelin at that price

Makes sense. Thanks. I'm assuming Tor loses Kerfoot in expansion, opening up enough cap for Hagelin and a cheap UFA 3C.

Copley is really just insurance in case Andersen does not re-sign cheaply. He had a 16 win season, tying him with Quick for 34th in wins that year. Better team, but fewer games played. In a 31 team league, if you're top 35 in wins, you're at least a solid backup, if not creeping into 1b territory. I was surprised that WSH started this past year with Vanecek instead of Copley but I think that may have been due to cap space at the time, and not wanting to waive Siegenthaler, and then Vanecek just ran away with the opportunity.

I just don't see this team being able to move Oshie. I don't care if he's from WSH and frankly, I don't think other people care either.
It's a bad contract. almost 6 mil till he's 38.
Looking at his buyout, My guess is 1.5-2 mil retention on moving that contract in the future.

I think the right team to move him to is BOS. Decent team, closing window. When the window shuts who cares. They need help producing points.

Hagelin just doesn't bring enough to justify that cap hit on this Leafs team. They've got to be meticulous with every dollar and Hagelin at that price works against that.
