There'd be some significant cap issues in 2023-2024 with this roster, assuming Werenski re-signed for a large chunk of change (thinking 8mil+). Not saying it couldn't be done, but that would be interesting to see how Blake manages that.

Would love to see big mobile Grans come over and replace Strand by that time. Fun team to think about in a couple years. Kaliyev would have to fit in there somewhere... ****emo maybe. Fun stuff.

That's really right on value for one of the three premier young defensemen we all have our eyes on.

This is the concern I keep having, to stay away from future cap issues, I feel all the Kings can really do is get 2-3 payers on 1-3 year term contracts (filled one today with Arvidsson) as stop-gaps until their prospects are ready.

This would be a home run, but with both Landeskog and Werenski we are now in cap hell and expecting to have to pay one of the kids that break out in a couple years. I would prefer to see what kind of expansion deals are out there like the Arvidsson deal. While these are premier players, there’s better value out there that bridges the gap.

The Kings have a lot of cap space coming off the books in the next few years. Brown's $5.9M and Carter's $2.6M will be gone after next season. Quick's $5.8M and Phaneuf's $1M will be gone in 2023. Arvidsson's $4.25M will be gone in 2024. That's $20M coming off the books in the next 3 seasons. I don't foresee any cap issues, even if Werenski does get $8-9M.
