Description
The players buy into Granato up-tempo style.
Mittelstadt plays on the top line with Skinner and each score 30 goals with Thompson chipping in 20.
The lines finishes the season with nearly 85 goals.

Cozens breaks out and has a great sophomore season with 25 goals.
Chytil shows everyone why he was a first round pick while surpassing his career highs of 14 goals and 14 assists set in '19-'20 and '20-'21 respectively potting 17 goals and 24 assists.
Hinostroza's performance mirrors his time with the Hawks last year (17 games with 4 goals and 12 pts) and he exceeds his career high he set with Arizona in '17-'18 with 17 goals and 45 pts
The line ends up with just under 60 goals.

Bjork - Engvall - Okposo provide decent third line production with a total of 40 goals.

Girgensons - Asplund - Byron prove to be the checking line Buffalo needs.
They finish among the top 10 PK team while shutting down the opponents top line.

Dahlin and Miller feast off of each other.
Dahlin is able to set up Miller with picture perfect passes and the tandem record 25 goals.

Butcher, Hagg, Jokiharju and Pysyk all thrive under Granato's system.

Pysyk turn out to be a great swing man capable of playing RHD and RW as needed.
Dermott escapes the Toronto microscope and with the reduced ice time in Buffalo fills in admirably.

The team surprises the league with 78 points and finishes 5th from last.
The Hockey gods smile on Buffalo and they win the draft lottery and draft Shane Wright.

Miller, Butcher, Hagg, Hinostroza and Koskinen all prove to be hot commodities at the TDL and each player returns a second round pick giving Buffalo eight and a total of 13 in the first two rounds this year.

Adding the Edmonton trade, retaining on Jack, the Sabres make the cap floor.
I really like your trade concept.

Edmonton rejects. That's a terrible deal for them. Olofsson has negative value and you're expecting them to downgrade at wing and in net AND give up picks? That's insane

I mean, both Kassian and Olofsson benefitted from playing with an elite C in 2019-20, so both of their stats were inflated. This past season, neither really played with an elite C -- so I think this past season is a better showing of who they really are on the ice. Olofsson's stats look better than Kassian's in that scenario, but they're still pretty close.

    Edit: wrong year, changed

Except Olofsson's stats aren't inflated, they're among the worst in the league at 5v5. He's a PP specialist and Edmonton has no room on their PP, he is a cap dump to them.
