Even if Arizona finishes dead last they have what a 18.5% chance at drafting first? I don’t know if I would say they have it in the bag yet.

Since there’s only 2 lotteries now, at worse, they finish 3rd and get Savoie. They’re still getting a top centre no matter what

3rd is still a great consolidation prize assuming a team like Buffalo doesn’t finish last. There also is a talent gap between Wright and insert 3rd rank name (pretty sure Savoie isn’t the consensus 3rd but Miroshnichenko if I spelled that right).

Arizona, or whatever they will be called in the future, seems to be on a path to have a future one two punch that will rival the days of Crosby and Malkin. If they can get Wright and Bedard, watch this franchise get completely revitalized. If that is Bill Armstrong’s strategy, watch for Bettman to do anything he can to make it happen.
