I think you guys are way overblown on the age issue considering he’s only 32 and everyone acts like he’s gonna die tomorrow. He’s still a very effective defenseman as shown by his most recent play in the playoffs. This same logic is what I’ve never understood when the Rangers didn’t want to resign him and are now doing the same with Mika most likely. Not everyone falls off a cliff at 30. It is beyond delusional to think so. If you don’t like the contract that’s valid as it is a large one, but predicting an impending demise when the on ice play hasn’t indicated is crazy to me.
