Description
I think most of the roster is pretty well set, I'd say ennis gets a 1 year deal... what does everyone think on d. I am hoping brannstrom wins a job but who would be the odd man out? If it were up to me I think zietsev would be sitting. Also anyone think gus is playing himself on the team

People hate Brannstrom because he's tiny. There's no logic to it, he's extremely gifted offensively and should at least make the 3rd pair for that alone (he's arguably a better PP QB than Chabot already), but that's the reason. Gustavsson may be better than Forsberg, but he's our best shot at a long term starter, so giving him AHL starting minutes is better than having him sit on the bench most of the year. He probably won't make it but that's actually a good thing for his development and the team long term. Unlike Brannstrom who needs and deserves NHL minutes now.

I completely agree brannstrom should be in the nhl. I hope it's beside del zotto on the 2nd pairing and on the 2nd pp unit.

It is so wild that even with the Huges brothers and others we still have this idea that D men have to be big. I think Brannstrom gets a lot of grief just because he was part of the Stone deal and he has taken a little longer to develop, but I think he is great and has a good balance in a second pairing. Long term I would really like the 2nd pairing to end up being Bransstrom - JDB, I think those two could complement each other. That would be really the only reason I have him in Belleville to get more minutes and form some chemistry with JDB.

Gustavsson is good to have because you can never have too many goalie prospects, but I see Forsberg as the better more veteran Backup, and long term I think it will be Soogard that takes the #1 from Murray I think he just has a bigger upside as a starter. I guess the idea is to have both of them split games in the AHL and see who really is the better long-term starter, this will be a huge year for both fo them.
