I think signing Tavares sunk this team. That money could've been used to really patch some sizable and necessary holes.

Like what? What sizable holes? 2C? Or do you mean they could massively overpay depth LW like Hyman instead of paying top dollar for an elite player.

If Tavares could finish Marner would’ve had at least 2 assists last night he’s been fine, creating lots of chances, the production will come. He’s never been a goal scorer so he needs his line mates to convert those chances. Feel like most of his hate comes from his big cap hit. “Not an 11 million dollar player” “overpaid” “1 assist for 11mil”. They need to let it go, there’s no changing it now, would it be great if he made less? Absolutely, he’s still a great player though.
