Borje Salming - ALS
Borje Salming was my childhood idol. There was certainly nothing to cheer about as far as team success was concerned in the 1980s, but there was Borje. I'm sure The King is regarded more as a "pioneer" or "trailblazer" these days, but his on-ice performance was truly elite (at both ends of the ice). But above all that, he is truly a man of humility and class.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A little known fact on Borje Salming. In 1987, when no one else would, before the IIHF would even sanction women’s hockey, he funded Sweden’s women’s team to travel to Canada for the first ever women’s international competition, the World Women’s Hockey Tournament. <a href="https://t.co/kdN33KjLCy" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://t.co/kdN33KjLCy</a></p>— Ian Kennedy (@IanKennedyCK) <a href="https://twitter.com/IanKennedyCK/status/1557384335858229248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">August 10, 2022</a></blockquote>
I wish him all the strength and courage as he faces this devastating and cruel disease.

That's so cute, plug. You're on here 24/7 to show everyone where they've gone astray! It's a shocker that a pathetic, no-life pigeon hasn't been scooped up by a real team, instead of imparting his laughable drivel on here day after day.

Would give them a much better one-two punch. Having two guys that can drive olay withoutstanding vision allows them to seperate Tkachuk and Johnny.
Not that I think Calgary takes much time to decline this trade. I'm certain leafs wouldn't offer it anyway.</div></div>
Congrats, clown.
You've managed to argue both sides of this, as usual. Pigeon.

Long term goalie solution

If he was as you say "****" and "Mediocre" why is he the most traded for player on this website right now?</div></div>
So who's played the most games and faced the most shots in that span? Has his (or their) game descended into complete mediocrity? And from what I see, he's only started 60 games once in his career. If he crumbles under that "workload", thanks for providing more reason to stay away from him.
I have no idea why so many people want him traded. I'm on your side though, I hope he stays where he is.

Gibson has been complete **** for 3+ years now. Please stop linking him to the Leafs.
Let the Ducks keep him. Their fans seem to be quite happy with mediocre goaltending.

Armia however, move him to Buffalo with a third for future considerations.</div></div>
I'm sure the Canadiens would happily move Weber's contract for a price. Although, it will be to a team near the cap limit that would be interested, not Arizona. I wasn't looking at it from the Canadiens' perspective at all. The deal makes absolutely zero sense from the Yotes' standpoint. They would look to take another Louis Eriksson contract to get to the floor. They're not giving up picks to do it.

They can easily do that w/o giving up picks. Teams will be lining up to give them picks for bad contracts.

Next year if we lose
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>What a weird way to attempt to invalidate my point. I am not saying Mangiapane is better than Marner, nor am I saying anything like "Toronto should add." You were originally responding to the the other user stating their production in the last 8 games. You said an 8 game sample size is stupid, all I did was expand on that sample size to provide a better POV.
I, like you, am not talking about the trade proposed. I was just giving you a better sample size to work with as you may not have been aware of Mangiapane's growth towards the end of last season and how that carried over into this year.</div></div>
Now I must question your reading comprehension skills overall. For the second time, you've totally misrepresented a post of mine.
I did not attempt to "invalidate" your point. Quite the opposite, I clearly stated "Yes, 26 (meaningful?) games is a better sample size than 8. Because 8 games are ridiculous." That was your point as you yourself admit that you, like me, are not talking about the trade proposed.
And let me save you time if you wish to continue. Yes, 40 games are better than 26 or 8 and no I don't care about the growth of Mangiapane's offseason workouts.

I won't question your overall reading comprehension skills, but specific to my post - they're lacking.
I said "pushing the trade aside". In doing so I assumed most reasonable people would understand I meant, in general, comparing two players' overall value based on 8 games was asinine. I'm not sure why you continue to feel the need to argue something I never weighed in on.

Pushing the trade aside, it's asinine to compare the value of two players off an 8 game sample size.

Unless Campbell really falters, I don't see him getting anything less than $6M. He's an older goalie that will be looking for his big contract.

I don't even care about the contract, Rielly is not a #1 D-man on any contending team. So either they free up cap space to get a real #1 in or we're screwed for a long time.
