if you're only talking about best player left standing, then sure, he has a case (although if I had to pick between Makar and MacKinnon I might still lean MacKinnon, and while I probably take Makar over Kucherov today, it's close enough that a big finish to the ECF by Kucherov could put him back ahead of Makar for me). But McDavid is very obviously the best player in the world, and once again he's shown that it's not even close. Makar is definitely the #1 D and top 5 player though.
