Description
I think there is only a 50% chance Hertl makes it to the market, but if he does, these are my current predictions.
Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Lohrei, Mason [Reserve List]
  2. Moore, John
  3. Studnicka, Jack
  4. 2022 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
--- WITHOUT EXTENSION ---
BOS
  1. Blichfeld, Joachim
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Hertl 50% retained (2,812,500)

This one is hard, considering there is such a massive gap between Lysell and any of the other prospects in the Bruins system.
2.
SJS
  1. Lysell, Fabian
Additional Details:
John Moore
2020 1st

--- WITH EXTENSION ---
BOS
    Hertl

If another team already has an agreed extension with Hertl, I don't see anyway they can compete, being that Lysell would HAVE to be part of the trade in that scenario.

Consider this extremely unlikely, and its why I don't see Boston as a real landing spot for Hertl.
    3.
    SJS
    1. Barron, Justin
    2. Helleson, Drew [Reserve List]
    3. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
    Additional Details:
    --- WITHOUT EXTENSION ---
    COL
      Hertl Retained

Barron and Helleson play RD, something SJ lacks behind Ryan Merkley, with Burns and Simek not likely being around much longer, SJ needs to plug that hole with good prospects.

Likely a small asset would need to be heading back to Colorado, any ideas?
      4.
      SJS
      1. Newhook, Alex
      Additional Details:
      2023 1st

      --- WITH EXTENSION---
      COL
        Hertl retained

This one is obvious, if Hertl agrees to an extension before being traded, this is probably what will happen.
        5.
        SJS
        1. Addison, Calen
        2. 2022 1st round pick (MIN)
        Additional Details:
        --- WITHOUT EXTENSION ---
        MIN
          Hertl 50% retained

Once again, a strong RD prospect who could play in the NHL sooner rather than later.
          6.
          SJS
          1. Khusnutdinov, Marat [Reserve List]
          2. 2023 2nd round pick (MIN)
          Additional Details:
          Addison

          --- WITH EXTENSION ---
          MIN
            Hertl retained

I think the difference between a 1st and a 2nd + Kushnutdinov is a fair enough upgrade for Hertl to come with an extension.
            7.
            SJS
            1. Chytil, Filip
            2. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)
            Additional Details:
            --- WITHOUT EXTENSION ---
            NYR
              Hertl

Chytil is a big risk, he could turn out to be a good 2C, but has struggled to consistently improve. This is the deal that pretty much has been agreed on a million times over the past year. If Chytil fails to make any meaningful improvements this year, I would say that Zach Jones would be included as well.
              8.
              SJS
              1. Schneider, Braden
              Additional Details:
              2022 1st
              Chytil

              --- WITH EXTENSION ---
              NYR
                Hertl

Schneider is a very good RD prospect, the obvious choice.
                9.
                SJS
                1. Brisson, Brendan [Reserve List]
                2. Smith, Reilly
                3. 2022 2nd round pick (VGK)
                Additional Details:
This would likely require a three way due to Vegas' very tight cap situation. Reilly would go to another team for a 2nd with 50% retention.

                --- WITHOUT EXTENSION ---
                VGK
                  Hertl

While Vegas and a Sharks trade sounds like a horrible idea, They each have what each other wants/needs. Vegas is in need of better centers, and having both of the magic Michigan duo of Brisson & Bordeleau would be really good for the sharks.
                  10.
                  SJS
                  1. 2022 1st round pick (VGK)
                  2. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
                  Additional Details:
                  Brisson
                  Reilly Smith (To be flipped)

                  --- WITH EXTENSION ---
                  VGK
                    Hertl

Difference between Hertl as a rental and with an extension would probably be a 1st (see Seth Jones trade), especially for a rival like Vegas.
                    11.
                    SJS
                    1. 2024 2nd round pick (VGK)

I don't think we can afford to do this. We are going to need Addison's cheap ELC the next couple years

Pass on that, we'll keep our futures and if we decide we can afford Hertl we'll make him an offer in free agency.

I think all these trades are strong proposals. Sharks are getting the return they need for their best player and teams are getting a really solid 2 way top 6 center.

taking a look at the redrafts on the athletic, both of them are ranked higher than I initially thought, that probably makes sense, or SJ sends a 2nd back or something like that.
