It’s not that Toronto picked Ritchie instead of Cizikas. He never would of signed with you instead of Isles. I’m sure Dubas tried. Listen to his presser after his contract where official. He said he wanted to ”die an Islander”.

Yeah edmonton wouldn't do that the whole point of the trade was to get a young middle 6 guy who can generate offense. Mikheyev is neither of those things sorry.

Thanks for the feedback. Honestly, I wouldn't take what he said too literally, he just signed a 6 year contract, what else could he say? The Leafs picked Ritchie on the first few days of free agency just like last year they picked Vesey and Boyd over Verhaeghe and Sheary.

Not much logic in living in this past. Don't know why the Oilers would have traded Bear for one year of Mikheyev. Foegle had much more controllable years. Seems like "UFA" seems to be difficult concept.
Bogosian an American signed with Tampa because it was easier for his family to visit especially with Covid border restrictions. Besides probably a lot more fun signing for three years with a Cup Champ.
Why would the Leafs trade a Dman(Dermot) for forward. Mennell is not an NHL Dman. Your scenario is "cap friendly" but not "roster friendly"

Hawks pass dermott IMO doesn't have more upside or is equal to Stillman, Kalynuk and Caleb Jones not to mention Beaudin who are all fighting for the 3rd line spot behind DeHaan and McCabe
