B’s don’t need another 170 lb dmen whose defense is the weak part of his game. Got enough of them.

Exactly. Zboril/Clifton would be about the worst 3rd pair D in the league. If Colorado is trading a young skilled defenseman who averages 21 minutes game they will target quality in their return.

When Sakic needed a stopgap defenseman in the offseason he signed Murray for 1 year at 2M. He is laughing/shuddering at the thought of acquiring two more stopgap LD who Sweeney signed to 3 X 3M deals.
