Flames would probably rather have Dube unless Debrusk takes a massive discount. We need as little on the books as possible for the off-season with Gaudreau Tkachuk Mangiapane and Kylington coming off the books

Sounds crazy, but Ottawa declines. I know a 6th round pick isn't a big ask, but Senshyn wouldn't make the cut for Ottawa next season and probably wouldn't even be the first call up from Belleville.
And at 25 (which is how old he'll be in March) I'm not expecting him to take another step in his development.

Also wasn't he just on waivers? If they didnt want him for free I cant imagine they'd want to pay a 6th

Yep. He cleared waivers just before the season started.

Ottawa is not spending a 6th round pick on a bust who we could have claimed off waivers on multiple occasions.

The fact that he's a former 1st round pick from the Ottawa area does nothing to change that reality.
