Tierney might be helpful...but a 2nd is a big overpay for him. If they can get him for a 4th and 5th...or a 4th + a distant prospect (Gettinger?)- then go for it. Any more expensive than that and NYR should pass. One guy I would look at to fill the 3C void, though is McCann...if dealing with Seattle, that's the guy they should be looking at. For sure he'd be more expensive, but he's still RFA after this year- so if they can't extend him (and they probably wont be able to) they should be able to move him and get a little value back- so he's not really a pure rental.

As far as the Gio move- I'd stay away, and certainly wouldn't burn a 1st rounder on a pure rental -who they'd have no intention to keep. A simple move to help the D: put Zac Jones on 3rd pair with Schneider...and hold onto Nemeth as veteran D depth- then move him after the season.

Tierney? Meh. Barron has played very well, we may not need to make a move there.

As far as 3LD, I dont think we need to go for someone as high profile as Gio. I think a simpler, cheaper move like Calvin De Haan would be plenty suitable for us.

Chytil has looked decent as the RW with Panarin and Strome, no reason for us to move him away from there.

If were going to trade the 1st round pick, it should be for someone of Pavelski/Giroux level, not Gio.

Slight overpay for both, but a realistic deadline

Agree - Tierney having a bad season and is a buy low candidate. GIO could Garner a 2nd at TDL
