Description
Rationale:

OTT: Kapanen has fallen out of favour with Sullivan. He hasn't been producing and constantly gets demoted out of the top 6 (he was on the 4th line today and only played 8:03). Maybe it's time to flip him for some draft capital. I will say that I do not personally value Kapanen that high, but I'm sure some NHL GMs might value him quite highly.

LAK: This is only if the Kings miss out on their other LHD targets. Pettersson is a good top 4 option for them, he has a very reasonable cap hit and is signed until 2025. LA has Doughty (not going anywhere), Roy (solid top 4 RHD), Durzi (getting regular ice time), and a ton of RD good prospects (Clarke, Spence, Grans). Walker could be expendable.

VAN: I'm not too sure on this one. It sounds like Miller is the forward that the Cancuks are going to be moving out, but him only having 1 year on his contract is a deterrent (at least in my opinion). The Canucks could use a defensively-minded RD like Marino. Even though he hasn't been as great as his rookie year, he's still good defensively and could partner very well with Hughes. Not to mention JR is who gave Marino his current contract (even though he's not the GM)

Yes, Walker may be surplus, but we won't be trading him for Marcus Pettersson, especially if we have to add a draft pick. We're much more likely to ask for Pierre-Olivier Joseph.

I think it’d be better if PIT moves POJ than Pettersson. Marcus is very good and proven.

I'd swap garland for Marino if I'm Van. I think garland would fit in really well with the Penguins.

Not sure I'd willing to add a pick though because they could probably trade garland elsewhere for a prospect RHD that is NHL ready plus a pick

Garland should be similar to Marino. Maybe add a lower pick but not a 3rd because of the positional need
