Trades
1.
EDM
  1. 2022 4th round pick (WSH)
WSH
  1. Kassian, Zack
Additional Details:
I am not sure what team wants him but there have been ongoing rumors since the summer that Kassian is a potential trade candidate. Even though he's not playing up to his contract a team out there would think that he fits in well (sucks for them). Doesn't have to be WSH.
2.
EDM
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Barrie, Tyson
Additional Details:
Everybody knows Barrie isn't the best dman and he's been having a rough year. But like Kassian, his reputation and the blindness of NHL pro scouts and GMs put him to value. The team doesn't have to be CBJ but a team that wants to be more competitive and needs RHD would look into him. I don't think he should have any trade value but it's not far fetched that an NHL team would like him.
3.
EDM
  1. Holtby, Braden ($500,000 retained)
DAL
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
Holtby is the best goalie option out there in my opinion. He's playoff tested and has the best stats and analytics out of all the goalies available (besides Husso).
4.
EDM
  1. Lehkonen, Artturi
  2. 2023 6th round pick (MTL)
MTL
  1. Benson, Tyler
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Lehkonen is a solid two way guy who can chip in offensively from time to time. He'll be able to play up and down the lineup, plus the asking price shouldn't too high for him either.
5.
NJD
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Not sure if the devils wanna give him up, but they have Smith and Graves who can easily play the top 4 minutes. So getting someone for the bottom pair shouldn't be hard to do.
6.
NYI
  1. Safin, Ostap
  2. Samorukov, Dmitri
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
The isles are giving up a guy who no longer fits in the top 4 as Dobson can slot in well. They get back a propsect dman in Samorukov who might be able to play in the top 4 down the road and will most likely play in the show next year. This package should be mroe than enough to acquire mayfield.

Doubt Benson holds any interest to Montreal. Another winger, and he'll completely bust out of the NHL because he won't get enough opportunity.
Asking price not being high for Lehkonen is likely off the mark as well. He should be a popular target and he isn't a pure rental. I don't think the Oilers are prepared to make a play for him.

Lehkonen is being watched by many teams and he's RFA, why MTL would do this trade if they would benefit more from just keeping him ?! Asking price for him is high because habs dont need or want necessarily to move him

Let's just go one by one, shall we?

- You are not getting anything for Kassian. In fact, you'd have to pay to move him, probably at least a 2nd.
- Nobody is giving a 2nd for Barrie until Jason Botteril returns somewhere. In fact, he's quickly careening toward "have to pay" territory. Not there yet, but...
- Yes, Dallas takes that in a heartbeat... but considering the first two asks you won't have the cap to do it.
- Benson has no value, but take him out and you're not too terribly far off. Of course, you also don;t have the cap for it.
- Bro... as nuts as it sounds, there's a case to be made that he's been the Devils best D-man this season, and for dirt cheap. Not a chance in hell.
- Okay, that one you can probably pull off (even if Safin is a nothing throw-in)

To add here, Dallas definitely should take that but I don't think they will. DAL front office seem to think Stars is a playoff contender so I don't think we're selling. Especially with retention.
