Isles hang up and wait for you to call back with a better offer than a pick in the mid-50s, a cap dump, and a guy who's spent the last 3 years as a 13th forward in the AHL.

a second and one of your two goalies would prob be enough for varly, they need a backup. they’d maybe be more interested in samsonov since he’s also russian but can be either or

As a Sabres fan,
I’d say your trade proposal with us is close

The thing if is…. idk that we’d actually “want” Hagelin or Vanecek

With Hagelin….
he’d pretty much just be here for the last year of his deal in a leadership (i guess) role
But Tuch is expected to be named our Captain this off-season
And i think we’re happy with what we’re getting from other Vets- namely Okposo & Girgensons- on the ice AND in the room…. they both wear an “A”
So he’s just not a “need”
But i suppose i could see us taking him, it’s not like he’d hurt

With Vanecek….
he’s another decent player- and one who MAYBE turns into a quality starting goalie IF ever given the chance
While that would seem to be a good fit for us, we also have a bunch of good young goalie talent coming. One of which, UPL looks ready for his shot- as he’s played well for us this season.
So i think what we’re looking for more, would be a Vet presence who could mentor these young kids (also including Levi & Portillo, who are ripping up the NCAA & about to sign with us)
My thought would be that someone like Holtby would be a good fit for what we’d be looking for
BUT
If we do like Vanecek- which we could- it would just be a matter of whether or not we’d be ok using that 2nd round pick to get him- or if we had other designs for that pick

Decent trade overall though
I could POSSIBLY see something like that happening

I don’t think the Canucks are actively shopping Garland, so to get Garland your gonna have to overpay
