I rather have Helleson, at least you know what you are getting. First round pick are so much overrated, they usually are late first round pick and there a very small % around 30% of the players drafted in the first round will have a decent career in the NHL.

I'd take Drew Helleson even if the pick were Colorado's 2022 first. As @joblow says, we know what we are getting both in terms of quality and position. (Imagine an eventual top 4 of LaCombe - Drysdale and Zellweger - Helleson.)
