wow that's awful for the leafs. they dont trade Nylander alone for Scheifele a t this point of their careers, let alone add all that

Boston has little use for an old 3rd line center rental. They have 3 3rd line centers on the roster. And Debrusk floor is Statsny ceiling at this point.

No, we're not trading either Vilardi or our 2022 first for UFA Copp. If we're going to be buying a rental, it would be a cheap LD.

Actually, Toronto desperately needs centre depth. It’s their biggest organizational need. If Matthews or Tavares gets hurt, they have no good option for a top 6 centre and it’ll hurt the team more than anything.

I agree this is a pretty steep overpay by Toronto, but it does fill a need
