Description
- Beside varlamov (who isn't waiving to come to edm) and holtby (won't get traded due to Dallas being in the playoff hunt), I don't like any other goalie options for the oilers. I don't think anyone out there would be an upgrade at all from what they have already. So, I used the assets to stregthen the d core, hopefully making the team better defensively.

- Don't know if Holloway will be called up but I think he's good enough to succeed in this league, he fits anywhere in the lineup for me (specifcally middle 6), but I'd like to see him get a shot in the top 9 with one of mcdavid, drai or nuge.

- They can run either 11 F 7 D or the traditional 12 and 6
Trades

EDM
    Future Considerations
    FLA
    1. Archibald, Josh
    Additional Details:
the guy won't get vaccinated so it's pointless for him to play in Canada as he'd only play home games. He'll be a good bottom 6 player on the panthers and I have a feeling he'll play well there too.
    2.
    EDM
    1. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
    BUF
    1. Barrie, Tyson
    2. 2023 5th round pick (EDM)
    Additional Details:
I think Buffalo wants to contend next year based off how they're performing right now and the Eichel trade (acquiring nhl ready guys in Tuch and soon, Krebs). They need RHD and better puck movers on the back end as well. Hopefully Barrie can bounce back into the player he was last season for them.
    3.
    NYI
    1. Samorukov, Dmitri
    2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
    3. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
    Additional Details:
Similar to the Toews trade, the isles give up one of their top 4 dmen who they don't have room for with the emergence of Dobson and with a healthy Pulock. Getting back draft picks will help their prospect pool, and Samorukov should be able to step in next season for them as well, and turn into the 2LD they need down the road.
    4.
    PHI
    1. Benson, Tyler
    2. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
    3. 2024 4th round pick (EDM)
    Additional Details:
Don't know why philly re-signed risto but there's been speculation about that leaving Sanheim available. I think it'd be a bad move for the flyers but seeing the Risto signing, this is probable.

Sabres decline, we likely want a sound defensive rd to pair with Power, not another offensive defenseman.

lmao. No one is giving you anything for Barrie. 3rd pairing dman making 5.5 mil with term. It will cost you to move him.

Sabres don't want to compete next year, I know Adams has said that they are shooting to be able to contend in 23-24. I bet they want to try and get another top pick in 23/24 as well as they won't be able to seriously compete. Next year the sabres are going to have like 5/6 rookies, even more second year players, players under 23 will be most of the team.

Yeah that makes sense, I know Buffalo needs RD just not the type Barrie is. Another suggested I had was moving him to Dallas with Klingberg likely going to FA.

Really doubt the oilers would have to add to move on from Barrie. Nobody can speak for NHL teams' management but with the past records of horrible trades for dmen, I can certainly see Barrie getting back some kind of value even if it is low. The only cap dump trades we see today are guys who are healthy scrathes or play in the minors.
