Description
Dumo to the kings just makes sense. They need a veteran top pair defensive defenseman short term and probably fits their style more. Pens get more physical.

Zucker to any contender 50% retained. He’d be a solid add for 2.75 million to any contender. I saw a blues acgm with Barbashev for MP. They need a young second pair LHD and pens could use a cheaper top 9 winger.

Detroit trades a prospect that probably doesn’t have room to come up for one that’s already ready that will no longer have the pressure. Could be a cheap resurrection project. Pens get a prospect that brings a combo of physicality and skill.

Since Heinen seems to be in Sully’s doghouse. Trade him for a pick and let OConnor, Zohorna, Nylander get their chances.

Pens keep some of their core but lose Malkin. I believe Malkin is the least important piece to keep.
Rakell has been great since coming here and brings physicality and skill, seems to have great chemistry with Sid.
Bringing rust back is huge due to his ability to play up and down the lineup and also having chemistry with Sid.
Trochek again brings that grit and skill combo that they need.
Lyubushkin is amazing defensively and brings physicality they need on the blue line to go with Friedman’s pest like ability.
Beaulieu is a solid 7/8 d that brings physicality into the lineup when injuries occur.
Fleury gives Sully a trusted vet backup that can take the reigns if Jarry struggles and can also take the load off Jarry getting more games than DeSmith or most others would be able to play.

Gunna keep it a stack with you.
Zuckers value as a rental is greatly diminished by the fact he cant seem to stay healthy,

Sure but it’s at less than 3 million and he went from getting a 1st plus good prospect to a 3rd. Honestly the pick doesn’t really matter anyway.

Hard pass from Detroit. I don't want Kapanen for free, let alone giving up a prospect, even an average prospect.

Maybe I’m out of the loop, but why is every Pens fan trying to move on from Zucker?

I would do the Kapanen to Detroit deal.

He's a good fit, with very good defensive numbers (more takeaways than giveaways etc.) and he's a right handed shot which we're short of. Kasperi also has better numbers overall than Fabbri does even if he doesn't rebound which I think he's likely to.

The only drawback I can see to that deal is that he isn't bringing Pettersson with him, fix that.
