Description
CHI - NYI

I've seen almost every Blackhawks AGM trade away Kubalik. I think he's worth a risk on this team. Chicago needs a starting goalie, and they get a Kubalik replacement.

---

SEA - NYI

Seattle gets a LW to play with Beniers, who also has existing chemistry with Eberle. Isles get an offensive LHD to replace what they've lost in Leddy and Toews.

---

BOS - NYI

Isles get a defensive LHD to play with Dobson and a scoring RW to replace Beau. Boston gets cap space and a nice offensive LHD prospect. I'm sure Trotz would love to have Craig Smith back.

---

Before anyone wonders why Forbort is on the 2nd pair and Dunn is on the 3rd pair, getting them is meant to:
1) Build a strong unit, which is what we had when the Isles played their best hockey.
2) Find ideal partners for Dobson (Forbort) and Mayfield (Dunn).

I don't know if I love how this team is built. I think the defense is a major improvement here, but the forwards are all over the place. My issue is not wanting Beauvillier on RW long-term, and it seems like Trotz won't play Beauvillier with Barzal, and he won't play Lee with Barzal if Wahlstrom is on his line too. I also would hate to break up the Bailey-Pageau-Palmieri line, I think they've been our best line since they've been put together. So the forward flexibility is a little weird here, but I like it as a unit vs. if we got Forsberg or Gaudreau and gut all depth.

Pretty interesting for the hawks. Could flip Varly at the TDL half retained for a better pick probably

Craig smith is an important piece for the bruins. Don’t think they just give him away.

Totally fair. I was thinking it'd open up cap space to re-sign Bergeron at ~$5.5M. I did a personal AGM to make sure it'd work. If you make this trade with us, and trade DeBrusk, you'll have enough space to sign Bergeron and bring in a RW at less than $4M.

You guys know better than me, so I'll defer to your judgment on if this makes sense. I'm definitely still down to trade a 3rd for Reilly, which has been discussed ad nauseum on here. I just happen to like Forbort and think he would complement Dobson very well. Smith I thought would fit well here because of Trotz, but I wouldn't want to trade him either if I had him and had the space.

What do you think of the contract I gave Kubalik?

And why is Kubalik being phased out? Seems like he's just having a bad year, but he's not a bad player. I'm surprised the Blackhawks don't want to keep him around and build around him, DeBrincat, Dach, and Reichel at forward.

But I'm glad you like the value. I do too here.
