Can't see the Devils moving all of that even for a great player like Pasta. That's too much for a team that isn't there yet and should rely on cheap talent that Holtz and Mercer will be for years to make up for the heavier contracts.

The problem i have with this is that you’ve moved marchand, pasta, and debrusk, and i don’t really see a piece in there that can be the next legit 1C in Boston. Maybe it’s Mercer? I kinda doubt it though. Maybe jerseys pick next year is really good, but i also kind of doubt it. I say just get the 2OA and be done with it.

That being said, Neely says he plans to extend Sweeney, which is brutal, and Sweeney says he plans to extend pastrnak. Seems to me like the bruins need to luck into a center.

See what happens next year with Mercer...but there were definitely some nights at center where he showed he could drive an offensive line (even without Bratt).

I would often list him at 2C on ACGMs over Hischier since I saw them as somewhat interchangable.
But he sort of wore down at end of year and Hischier picked it up.

I think both are really good players, with Mercer having the higher potential. However in my opinion, I don’t think either will ever be capable of being a top line center for a cup contender. Either one could certainly prove me wrong though.

Cannot see NJ doing that, pasta is awesome but its just so much. The pick will be top 5 protected at least considering next seasons draft.
