Severe overpay by the Caps. Only way I'd do that is if you switch Schmidt with Hellebyuk.

Carlson has no where near the value you think. Especially with his contract. Anyways he likely has WPG on his no trade list anyways.

He's a top offensive defensemen getting paid $8M. That's a good deal. But like you said, WPG is probably on his no trade.
