I think they probably keep Texier for the year. He was great with Robinson and Kuraly last year and he's a very good top 6 option if there are injuries. Maybe they move him next summer if his expected cap hit gets too high.

Yeah, Nyquist retained at 50% was the only chance of getting a pick this high. He's likely a cap dump at full salary and maybe the Jackets get leveraged into sending a pick with him now considering their position.

But if you’re looking to move him with all of his salary right now you won’t get full value. A third is a pretty good bet. Teams that have cap space that are rebuilding or retooling that could take him likely wouldn’t want to give up first or second round picks
