Description
Chinakhov, Tarasov, Meyer, and someone like Gaunce or Olivier to Cleveland.

Nyquist to a team that can use him. (I picked Nashville because they're my #2 team and I do believe the Preds could use him. The 4th is for amusing irony - Toronto's 2022 4th was what the Jackets sent to get Matthieu Olivier.)

Sign Laine. And Bemstrom. And Blankenburg. If there's to be agony, decide on where Blankenburg is go to - scratched, scratch someone else, or sent to Cleveland or whatever.

AND WE'RE DONE.

We don't *need* to do more than that. A Gaudreau-Laine pairing doesn't NEED a star center; it just needs someone who can handle the dirty work. That's Jenner, and he proved it with Laine-Voracek last year. And this way we keep ALL the kids, pick the best among 'em, and be competitive this year and a major player for many many more years to come.

Don't overthink this, folks. It's not that complicated.

Amen.

Curious (because I don't know your team well) why you have Bjorkstrand and Laine in their respective positions.

Agreed, let some kids marinate in the minors and just go with the centers you've already got.

This is more or less in line with what I was thinking in my most recent AGM.

Not OP, obviously, but I can guess. Laine prefers the right side, he just usually ends up on the left. Bjorkstrand can play both sides well but Voracek is a superior RW. I’d probably swap someone around because of tendencies and defense but I won’t quibble. I’m sure this will all be blown up anyway, especially if Marchenko comes in and lights it up.

That was the idea, yes.
