Description
Rumors are that the Wild aren’t interested in household bottom 6 names but want to add a bottom 6 player (because apparently the Wild don’t have enough). Also rumblings of trying to move Dumba. Heard Buffalo has interest, DET, DAL, and OTT are also in on Klingberg and could fall back on Dumba if they miss out.

VGK can’t match that offer sheet and he seems like the kind of player BG wants. He immediately fills in for Greenway or pushes Hartman/Jost for a top 6 spot. Worst case is he takes Sturm’s old role and we recoup the cost to get him later.

I know every other Sabre ACGM thinks Granato will play Dahlin on the right side, but none of them understand how hard it is for a LHD to back hand the puck out of the zone and the offensive team exploits that weakness.
Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson on the left with Dumba, Lyubushkin, Jokiharju on the right makes a lot of sense.
If Guerin only wanted a 2nd and 3rd for a RHD who averages 11 goals per 82 games, I would hope KA would say yes.
I think Karmanos would choke KA if he said no.

I was actually mid making an ACGM for Dumba trading away Mitts, adding a veteran top 6 forward.

My thought process is Dumba is worth 2 2nds but if you can get Nic Roy with the cap space, you’ve gotta make to move to force VGK hand. Roy and a 3rd sounds very reasonable to me for Dumba after the soft market for him the last couple years.

I know Dahlin played RHD in Europe as many play either off wing or off hand, it is the style in Europe.
But in the NHL there is a reason why Rutta, who was unclaimed from waivers a few years back, will be given a three year contract at $2,750,000 per year.
The Aves (Johnson, Barrie and Makar) and Bolts (Rutta, Bogosian, Cernak) all played with 3 RHD in the playoffs.
While Colorado's RHD is strong, Tampa's is actually VERY WEAK.
There is a reason why RHD are traded for king's ransoms at the TDL.
I could live with Fitzgerald as the third RHD, but Dumba would be the Sabres top RHD and Casey the team's 6th d-man.

I think Casey will have a big season next year, but with many other options at center and LW he could be the odd man out.
Getting a RHD with Dumba's resume would be a great trade, but I am sure you will get push back from Little and Shibbal.

I don’t get the sense Mitts is a fit for the Wild. I know he’s starting to look like a player but I really think they want a guy that can grind. As I was thinking about why they’d move Dumba, there were like 3 RFAs they’d do it for so picks seems like the way to go.
