Description
Apparently, the Canadiens have continued to pursue a Dubois trade even after acquiring Kirby Dach. “It is believed that Winnipeg is holding up the deal in an effort to secure a player Montreal has no interest in moving.” Apron Basu

I think in the end WPG will take the picks
I dont see MTL giving up anyone on the active roster
I think WPG knew that and is trying to leverage MTL to give up both 2023 1st rounders in the bundle.
I think WPG walks away with a good mix of prospects and picks
I think Drouin will be in the deal whether he plays or moves to LTIR for 1 year WPG loses nothing
There's still the chance leaving MTL as one of the last remaining French guys helps him alot
Playing by his former linemate in Junior Ehlers could work out helping him rebound

Again i'd just pass on PLD
No sense in acquiring a RFA like that who seems intent on Arbitration
Given how bad Arbitration usually screws us he'll probably end up with a Subban Deal.
I'm reluctantly giving him 7,25m because he's never going to be worth more then Suzuki Period
Thats not even open for Debate in my books so 7.25x7 with 3 year full NMC and 20m in Signing Bonus

This will end the Summer Moves
It might not happen like this but i do think PLD will be traded to MTL
I also think Anderson will be traded out for the simple fact his value is at an all time high

Until the TDL i expect it will be Evans and Pitlick on the outside looking in
Once Dadanov,Byron and and likely Lucic moved at the TDL they'll move on
While MTL might re-sign him later giving him a chance at a cup the other 2 wont
But that's for another post this one will already be confusing and lively enough

MTL
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Whatever way you slice it Drouins a throw in move for cap purposes.WPG can use him then sell him or keep him assuming he's coming back and doesnt just retire or go on LTIR which doesnt really hinder WPG

Longshot odds he rebounds playing with Ehlers in WPG.But think of it like a Lotto ticket you're being paid to play
WPG
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
  2. Trudeau, William [Reserve List]
  3. Ylönen, Jesse
  4. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
  5. 2023 1st round pick (MTL)
  6. 2023 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Ylonen i'd love to keep as he's an upgrade on Armia but the reality is with Gally,Armia,Pitlick ,Dadanov,Byron, ext we're denying him the chance to succeed after a Great Effort in a game 7 series in the ECF push that just barely came up short.

I'd rather give up a Defensman as we're heavy on the Left D but i have a strong feeling Hughes will move him.
2.
MTL
  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Top 10 protected but if CGY takes the pick MTL recieves a 1st in 2024 and a 4th in 2023
CGY
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Pezzetta, Michael
Additional Details:
He's a pending UFA MTL might flip
Then again we need a heavyweight on 4th
Pezzetta's a great middle weight guy
But the idea of Lucic-Dach-Armia makes me happy

That jets trade is actually good compared to the other hab deals this is accepted in my eyes but hab and jets fans are so far apart in value it's crazy

The first from Montreal is nice. I'm not sure the rest of the filler makes Winnipeg consider it.

Since one first is compensation for taking Drouin it's really just Montreal's first, 2 prospects Winnipeg doesn't need and a 2nd.

It most likely doesn't interest Chevy unless the prospects are changed to pieces Winnipeg needs/wants.

That 2023 1st should be a good one. No way this team makes the playoffs in the division they're in.

Winnipeg gets more for Duboisas a rental, so this would be a fairly easy no.

How he's a RFA??
They'd have to go to arbtiration
They're not going to give him a 1 year deal
Even if they did he'd still be an RFA

Once he's signed to a big deal via Arbitration WPG leverage to get the most out of a deal dwindles
Hence them trying to hard to move him the last few months
