Muzzin is not positive value to the Ducks and Will Francis just completed his chemotherapy for Leukemia he isnt going to be moved out, hes the exact type of player Verbeek values and will be signed by ANA, he hasnt been signed yet due to his chemo

Muzzin is a cap dump to ANA and we arent going to be paying any positive value for him, at most TOR would get future considerations from ANA

And the Ducks hold Francis' rights until 2024

A team should really offer sheet Sandin. This focus on more offence just insanity.

Fair point about Francis, I put him in their because I know Dubas was interested in acquiring his rights in the past. But I don't think Muzzin is as much of a cap dump as you describe. He still has some value, although I would agree not as much as in previous years. And Anaheim has been looking for more veteran players to compliment their young core, which Muzzin certainly is.

The trade could certainly be edited to make it better value for Anaheim; however, I feel that if he is willing to waive to go there then they are a good trade partner for Toronto.

To a contending team Muzzin surely has value, to a rebuilding team like the Ducks he doesnt have positive value, we want to give our young LD (Vaakanienen, Mahura, Benoit, White) the ice time Muzzin would take up, Ducks could have interest in a deal in the mold of the VGK-CAR Patches trade for Muzzin but I dont see a scenario where they give up any positive value for him

Very well said, and there is a good possibility you are right on this issue. I put Anaheim because I know during their press conference they talked a lot about needing more vets for their young guys to play with.

That being said, Anaheim can be changed for another team willing to pay a prospect or a couple of picks for him.
