Devils decline, not trading Holtz for a rental.
Wouldn’t even want them to do this trade even if Bert had an extension in place tbh.

I like the idea of getting holtz but I would hope we can get more for bertuzzi, who does it all.

Don’t think it makes much sense to trade a blue chip prospect for a forward aging out from his peak while the Devils are contending.
Holtz will likely be as good as Bert in 2-3 years time as Bert, but on an ELC and under team control.
Better to try and send Bert to a contender imo.
Also, there’s some bad blood between Bert and Hughes.
