Description
With Dallas facing RFA deals with Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger and already being on LTIR with Lehner joining Weber they could use they "nuclear" option.

Dallas is offering Oettinger around $3 to 4 million (Carter Hart as a comp) so this is a HUGE pay jump that would get Oettinger's attention.

In the next off season Vegas would need to move Lehner and his $5 mil AAV with 3 years remaining.

Isn't there a rule on how much you can go over the cap in the off season? Feel like vegas would be over the limit with this

Dallas would match that. Robertson is the tricky one. Which is why I think the Dallas FO is quite scared of the potential of a double offer sheet. With enough money, they could be forced to give up on one of Robertson or Oettinger to keep the other. Dallas is clearly going at talks with Robertson right now and Oettinger hasn’t really been talked to much, so an offer sheet would force Dallas to make a move. I think for Dallas to consider not matching an Oettinger OS, the money would have to be closer to about 8mil, and for that money, you should make it a 1 year deal to extend him at a lower price than his QO, much like the Canes did with KK.
