Coming from someone that often thinks Canuck fans overvalue Millers trade value, I'm not sure Vancouver accepts this offer.

The 1st is going to be late, Iorio is probably a B prospect no guarantee he ever plays an NHL game, Eller's will be 34 by the end of the year and would essentially be a throw in. I bet if WASH tried to move Eller's right now it would cost them to do so.

I think either the prospect or NHL player needs to be upgraded, even if they remove the other piece.

The Canucks are not going to be getting much for Miller if they trade him, this is what it will most likely look like if any team trades for him. It will be a B to A- prospect + a 1st round pick + a Veteran player that they can trade for more picks. He only has one year left on his deal and last season was his only stand out year. So no guarantee he can perform like he did last season (I think he will).

I definitely don't think Vancouver is going to get the package many of the Canucks fans are predicting but this trade is selling low. Eller's probably costs to move right now now and he isn't returning anything of substantial value at the deadline. This deal is essentially a late 1st and B prospect for the 12th highest scorer over the last 3 years, they will get more than that for Miller. If it's going to be a late 1st the prospect coming back will be closer to the A range, and the roster player will be in their low-mid 20's and project as a top 9 forward or have second pairing upside.

I definitely think other teams will offer a better deal, but saying Eller is just a cap dump is insane to me. He is still a solid third line center, excellent on the PK, can play the powerplay and will put up 30+ points.

I can definitely see a team in need of a center (and have the cap room) trading a third round pick for him, he only has 1 year left on his deal.

(But I don't really want to trade him unless Backstrom is for sure going to come back).
