Already have typed out to the ends of the earth that foegle doesn't make sense for Buffalo, but correcting one thing here. This trade doesn't save actual money for Buffalo since bishop's contract is insured

Came to say the same thing, and even then Bishop's salary for the year is 2.5 with a million-dollar bonus that would have been paid out already, so even if it wasnt insured the Sabres wouldnt save any money

Foegele would not make the Sabre line up.

$2,750,000 until 2023-24 (UFA)
37 Warren Foegele L 82 12 14 26 26/82 = 0.317 ppg

@Dylhole Which one of those four LW do you see Warren replacing?
Every one has more pp/g than he:
53 Jeff Skinner L 80 33 30 63 63/80 = 0.788 ppg
71 Victor Olofsson L 72 20 29 49 49/72 = 0.681 ppg
74 Rasmus Asplund L 80 8 19 27 27/80 = 0.338 ppg
28 Zemgus Girgensons L 56 10 8 18 18/56 = 0.321 ppg
He does not score well so he is not going to knock out Olofsson nor Skinner.
He is paid much more than Girgensons or Asplund who PK which he does not.

He does not play center so he will not replace Thompson, Krebs, Cozens nor Mittelstadt:
72 Tage Thompson R 78 38 30 68 68/78 = 0.872 ppg
37 Casey Mittelstadt C 40 6 13 19 19/40 = 0.48 ppg
19 Peyton Krebs C 48 7 15 22 22/48 = 0.46 ppg
24 Dylan Cozens C 79 13 25 25/79 = 0.317 ppg

He certainly will not replace Tuch, Quinn, Hinostroza or Okposo at RW:
89 Alex Tuch R 50 12 26 38 38/50 = 0.760 ppg
21 Kyle Okposo R 74 21 24 45 45/74 =0.608 ppg
29 Vinny Hinostroza RW 62 13 12 25 25/62 = 0.403 ppg

The Sabres aren’t trying to save any money, but they also want nothing to do with Foegele. Buffalo counters with Bjork for Janmark.

Well since you only listed 3 RWs I will say he replaces the fourth. Since he is a LW/RW after all.
