Cernak just signed an 8 year deal, And Pearson and a 2nd round pick is nowhere near enough for Cernak.

-Anaheim just got an arguably better LD in Dmitry Kulikov for free - why would they give up a 3rd for Dermott? Even if they trade some of the guys currently on their roster, they still have a handful of guys int he AHL who can easily step up and fill in. Rebuilding teams shouldn't be giving away picks for middling players like Dermott.

-Ottawa would probably just say yes because of the pick, and the need to slightly upgrade RD, but I don't think this is a good trade for Vancouver. You have more than enough cap space to carry Myers going forward, even if you stick him in the press box, so keep the 2nd and let it ride.

-Hilarious underpay for Tampa. Cernak just signed an 8 year extension that kicks in at the end of this year - why would they be trading him for an older middle-6 wing & a 2nd three years from now??

-Same logic as with Myers applies here - you have the cap room on this team for now, so save the picks and just bury Poolman if you don't want to use him. Doesn't make sense to pay a pair of picks to move a guy making $2.5M when you're sitting on $11M+ in cap space.

If that's the price for Cernak, I'll easily double or triple it.

And Sens can't take on Myers without sending Zaitsev the other way.
