Seattle declines and Boston should not do it anyway. Adding cap with term is problematic for next offseason.

I say it might get it done. Frederic and Studnicka can play as regulars in Seattle. Studnicka would slot in nicely at 3C behind Wright/Beniers in the future. Frederic would be a fan favorite. Replacing the 2nd with a 1st gets it done for sure but I really do not want to part with that.

It would make Boston's top 9 unbelievably good. Would have 2 lines that have great defense. Could run Hall on the 3rd if you like the chemistry with the 2nd line thus far. That's a cup team. Gourde has term. Worrying about the 1st seems nonsensical. The picks/players put forth in this return should be of no concern. The only argument against this is the 2 yr cap implications. That's it.

Why would the Kings give up a 3rd round pick for Craig Smith? Is he better than any of Kempe, Arvidsson, Vilardi, or Kaliyev?
