I've been saying it for years. Marner is not worth his cap. No way should he paid as a top 10 player. Now on CapFriendly why have hundreds, maybe thousands of posts when a player isn't worth his contract...or negative value, his trade value is very low.
Now Voracheck for Marner might be a fair trade, if the CBJ think they can get value for Marner in the remaining 2.5 years of his contract. But to add the cost efficient Sillinger, Peeke and a first, fantasy for the Leafs.

Very weak negotiating by Dubas and the Leafs executives. Players and teams try to base their negotiations on comparables (you would think) In Marner's contract year, he and Carolina's Aho, came up for their first RFA contracts. Check it out, both players had IDENTICAL stats for the two previous seasons. Aho signed an offer sheet, matched by Carolina for a 8.5m X 5 contract. Marner got almost 11m X 6. Leafs just gave away 2m or so for no apparent reason. Even Matthews getting the second highest paid player for a five year contract wasn't justified.

Jackets don’t need wingers. Their top 6 wingers for the future is set. They need shutdown defenseman or a legit 1C
