Description
I make these Armchair GMs to try and get a realistic picture on what teams (mostly the Leafs) can do with upcoming trades. I always appreciate feedback to try and make my future Armchair GMs more accurate!

This Armchair GM for example is an updated 2.0 version using feedback I got from a previous Armchair GM to help make it more realistic. I always appreciate the feedback so I can improve the realism of future Armchair GMs!! Thanks in advance for any constructive feedback I really appreciate it!!

The Toews trade is the trade I have the best feedback on and will keep. It'll probably take closer to the deadline to make a more realistic trade on the rest but I had some fun with it. Threw some stuff at the wall and will see what sticks ya know? Then I can base what sticks off in a new Armchair GM but revise it as feedback suggests

Edit: I hear you all the Ducks portion of the trade SUCKS I agree!! I tried to fit it in for cap reasons it's dumb I get it. Ignoring how dumb that is how is the trade for Toews? How is the trade for Miller and Garland?

The Leafs will likely add a Top 6 guy who can play LW at the Deadline and I'm trying to come up with who, Miller seems like a likely target. I need some ideas. Miller for two 1sts alone a better idea??

a 4th isnt even enough to take Murray tears of joy

I didnt think you could be that off on a value for Shattenkirk and Stolarz but here we are tears of joy

The 4th might be enough to cover the retention of Shattenkirk

Ducks arent going to help the leafs just because, they easily decline

Vancouver won't retain 2.475m on Garland for 4 years. The Leafs won't give that much for that package either, since they wouldn't be able to afford the Miller extension for next year that's already in place.

I don't see that Anaheim trade working for either team. Leafs like Murray and if they move him it will be in the offseason, not before the deadline. Not a need for Anaheim either, they can get better picks elsewhere.

Toews for a 1st has potential. Having a decent start to the year and his name alone boosts his value. I could see the Leafs or another team doing this.

Nothing in for Ducks. They can get prospect/better picks for Shattenkirk alone....maybe Stolaz too.
Leafs (and virtually any team) would be foolish to take 7 years at 8m per of Miller. As a result his trade value is very low.

Buddy, you are way off on that Anaheim deal.

We will trade Shattenkirk and Stolarz, and we can retain on Shattenkirk, but for Murray and a future 4th? Why would we do that?

Murray has three season in a row of playing terribly, even getting waived, has a 4+ season injury streak going, and you just got paid to take him this off season, and were given retention to boot. He has a 4 game sample size and he was outright bad in 25% of them.

So why would a team like Anaheim trade away two of our trade pieces this season, retain 2 million bucks, for two seasons of an injury prone ex starter that we are not confident in won't regress to a cap dump when he get here, and a mid round pick next year?
