I’m curious if Matt Dumba would want to gamble on himself with a 1 yr contract with a team that isn’t deep at all on the right side of its d-squad.

We could entertain re-signing him if both sides are on the same page, or flipping him at the deadline for a quality asset.

I kind of wondered about a Dumba/Monahan swap and what that might look like. The Wild are looking for a center and the cap between the 2 pretty much cancels each other out. It kind of makes sense to swap them.

As a Wild fan, I think he’d fit really well into what MTL is trying to do. I think you’d need to give him a multi year deal tho. I think he’s got a house in AZ and that could be a good situation for him to cash in with some term.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think they’d value Dumba over Monahan in the current lineup. That’s not a knock on Monahan, but rather they know the fit with Dumba is there and the impact is similar.
