Description

Regardless on what the devils do now to draft day I think there’s a gamble. One that can burn them for years or be the move that people look back on as a key part of a dynasty.

Having the luxury of Luke and Nemec having ELCs means there’s a comfortable about of time to construct the cap.

Pinto fascinates me. He can be an unbelievable 3C or scoring winger on Hughes line that can take the draws. He’s a complete wildcard at 4 million AAV but it’s a risk I think the devils can take.

Ottawa may have a hard time matching because of Debrincat and the needs to find goaltending and viable blueliners

He would be great...but for the offer-sheet to go unmatched, it may have to be 1st round rate ($4.2m to $6.3m).
Gives at least a window of incentive for Sens to not match.

I love the idea of offersheeting Pinto.
If the Senators are looking to be competitive next season and keep DeBrincat they'd be right up against the cap.
There's a real chance that Dorion wouldn't be able to match an offer sheet for Pinto at 4m.

2. Any offer-sheet that does not involve a 1st round pick in compensation would get matched.

He probs signs for $2m x 2 based on what Durzi got and what guys like Kyrou have

I imagine that gets matched and then he's traded to Arizona for Chychrun lol
