I've seen some crazy proposals on this site but this one is beyond fantasy land. Let's start with my team the Canucks. Those two players you threw in to try and lower the pick you'd need to send back for getting Schenn are nothing burgers. Mete and an undrafted player is not going to move the needle. Where the Leafs are in the standings the pick back to the Canucks would probably have to be a 2nd since it would be very late in the round.
I've seen about 6-7 proposals from Leaf fans that have them acquiring Meier. If you think you are going to convince the Sharks to give you Meier, who is a 26 year old perennial 30 goal scorer still in his RFA years, without giving up Knies you're just wrong. Even with Knies and adding multiple picks that would still probably not be enough.
Then you think you are going to flip Meier to the Hawks for their 2023 first round. The Hawks traded every player they could last summer that could help them win this year so that they could tank for a shot at Bedard. The worst the Hawks are going to finish is 2nd last which will guarantee a top 4 pick if they are extremely unlucky. That means at worse they are going to get Leo Carlsson but more likely Bedard or Fantilli. There is no universe where the Hawks give up their first round pick this year.
I won't even touch the Chychrun trade because it's just fallacy to think the Leafs have enough prospects and trade capital to trade for Meier, Chychrun and Schenn without touching their core players.
