not a sens fan but i'd think they would need liljegren to be in the deal to move debrincat to toronto

Exactly this. IF Ottawa were to trade Cat, it'd be for immediate top 4 help on the right side of the blue line + a young roster forward.

His numbers are inflated because he's playing on the third pairing for Toronto.

If he came to Ottawa, he would be nothing more than a right-handed Erik Brannstrom.

We need a RD that is more solid defensively like a Scott Mayfield or Nick Jensen.

I believe he played well when he had an elevated role as well when Rielly was out. Regardless, he's a young D-man on a budget contract for 1 more year. Getting him in a DeBrincat deal won't stop Ott from getting a Mayfield or Jensen.

The deal would probably start with Liljegren+Robertson.
