Description
As the legend himself might have done...
Trades with teams in the East to hurt the Panthers, who would finished behind all these teams if the Habs can give them a little help.
Habs will be worse and will drop in standings.
All for better chances at Bedard.

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Veleno, Joseph
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Montreal gets a future 3C in the local boy Veleno. Picks offset value in players.
DET
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. 2023 4th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Dvorak is an instant upgrade on Veleno, helping the Wings make the playoffs and beat out the Panthers. Dvo signed for a few more years, takes him to when Veleno would be UFA.
2.
MTL
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Lou needs to scramble to replace Barzal with a decent centre. Monahan is still the best option, even if he only last long enough to edge them into the playoffs.
NYI
  1. Monahan, Sean
Additional Details:
Monahan is back next week, in time for a game or two. With Toews off the market, Monahan is really the only veteran centre that could make a difference, when healthy.
3.
MTL
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Dadonov's value is about the difference between a 2nd and a 4th. The 5th goes to a third team retaining another 1.25 of Dadonov's cap hit.
PIT
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
  2. 2023 4th round pick (PIT)
  3. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Dadonov has really stepped up his game. He's excellent on reading the defense and making steals in the offensive zone. I feel he would be an ideal candidate to play with Malkin and could be had for cheap.
4.
MTL
  1. 2023 5th round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Washington is cap-strapped, limiting their ability to do anything. Bringing back the familiar Bowey adds to their D-depth on the cheap.
WSH
  1. Bowey, Madison
  2. 2023 6th round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Bowey has been excellent since he's come back from injury and is likely the next call up for the Habs on defence.
5.
MTL
  1. Davies, Jeremy
  2. Levi, Devon [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Montreal pays big to bring in Levi, a local boy with great potential. Right now Primeau is the better goalie and can help Buffalo with depth for a playoff run.
BUF
  1. Hoffman, Mike ($1,500,000 retained)
  2. Primeau, Cayden
  3. Schueneman, Corey
  4. Tuch, Luke [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Hoffman has been productive and could help Buf with secondary scoring. At 3 million signed through next year he has solid value.
Schue is being showcased on the first pair tonight and could help Buf weather the storm of injuries on the back end. And I'm sure everyone in Buf, including Alex, would love to have hometown boy Luke Tuch signed in April.

1. I think the Caps and Sabre's decline their trades as it does nothing to improve their on ice product
2. Wings might accept that if they really feel like they can make the playoffs
3. The Pens deal could go either way
4. I think the Ilse deal has to have the 2nd conditional with the chance to upgrade to a 1st based on GP for the Habs to accept that.

lmfao. This was designed to hurt the panthers but all it did was guarantee them a playoff spot.

Are you sure this pollock fellow wasnt secretly a double agent?

Which pieces are the "pays big" pieces in the buffalo trade? I only see spare pieces that we wouldn't want, let alone for levi.
