LA already has Cal Petersen and Pheonix Copley signed for next season - why would they give up picks to add Murray? Not saying those guys are necessarily better than MM, just that this trade misses the fact that they have better uses for their cap. They only have $8.7M in space this summer (less if you bring Petersen up to the main roster), so spending more than half of that on a third goalie when Gabe Vilardi needs a new contract and they need to fill out their bottom 6/3rd pair is a bad use of money in my eyes.

The trouble with any Murray trade is no teams likely wants his 4.7m cap hit. Teams would rather offer sheet Samsonov (or Swayman for up to 4.3m and just give up a second.
