Description

Assumes a 2.5 million cap increase (I don't believe it'll end up being only a 1 million increase)

Bouchard will have a full season on PP1 and playing with Ekholm. Bridging him could be disastrous because he should easily be a 50+ point dman next year, and we've got to worry about re-signing Draisaitl in 2 years, and McDavid in 3. It would suck to have to give Bouchard a massive raise the same year Drai or McDavid need a new contract

Based the 6x6 Contract for Bouchard on the Pulock deal. Pulock was obviously more established when he signed his deal, and the NYI bought up more years of free agency by getting an 8 year deal. But the salary cap has gone up a smidge, and Bouchard might be viewed as having a higher ceiling, idk

Foegle deal could be to any team, so don't get upset ottawa fans

To me it makes a lot more sense and cap cents to sign a Bouchard long term that to give up assets and take on most of Erik Karlsson's contract in a trade.

Ottawa might have a worse cap crunch than Edmonton next year, so there's zero chance we trade for a more expensive bottom six player.

I don't think Pulock is the right comparsion for Bouchard as Pulock had already been bridged twice. Rasmus Andersson contract would be more in the ballpark I believe as both contracts would have similar RFA vs UFA years in their duration.
