Why would Nashville consider that to be close? They trade a top 5 goalie in the league for a borderline nhl goalie, a prospect and moving up a round in a draft. That’s terrible for Nashville

I'll meet you halfway here. What exactly does a trade look like that you would accept? The trade that everybody likes to bring up is Cory Schneider for pick 9oa that became bo horvat, and that trade was a decade ago. What's offered here is last years pick 16, plus a first next year, plus a young goalie (he's inconsistent, but he's still young, and I can't stress just how brutal the Sabres can be in their own zone). Nobody is paying more than that, I feel pretty comfortable saying that. I totally get keeping him, unless you are tearing the team down to the studs in a rebuild, just keep him, and try to get him extended. I just don't think you would get more than what's offered here.

I’m not a Nashville fan, but if my team had a top goalie on its team I’m not trading him for that. They won’t be sending any high draft capital back as this trade only moves them up 15ish spots in the draft. UPL has shown no sense of being an nhl goalie and has struggled at the ahl level even. I don’t see the overall value in moving a vezina caliber goalie for that.

Olofsson is a fine goal scorer, and has the best goal song on the team, but Anaheim is not buying any pending UFAs, we decline.
