If the cost to dump mantha is moving back from ~12 to ~ 42 caps will just buy him out

probably still too much. Given it cost Toronto 13 spots to dump Mrazek, who had more term than Mantha, I would expect a more plausible trade to be something like Mantha+WSH 1st for TBL's 1st (if they are out in the first round), otherwise I think Washington would balk at those types of trades. Even dropping from 10-12ish to 25ish seems like something Washington is unlikely to consider since they could use that 10-12 pick to get a better forward and possibly send off Mantha in the process.
