I am one that fails to see the Jackets having a need to Hayes at all.

Roslovic is a fine 2-3C. Sillinger is young and has the tools to be a 1C. Jenner is a great 2-3C. And in the meantime, Johnson has been getting his reps as a centre and just may get some Calder votes.

Long term..... Hayes just seems unnecessary. The Jackets are far more likely to stay the course and see if Johnson's game gets better and if Sillinger bounces back from.the sophomore slump.

Hearing the comments that they'd move the LAK 1st for a LHD, I do wonder about Provorov to Columbus as an entirely separate possibility though

There is a need for a 2LD imo. But, I wonder if KK goes UFA and fills that spot. A guy like Connor Clifton (who I think is going to get a helluva lot of attention) could be a great addition. Plays 17 minutes a night on a deep Bruins blueline, and he hits..... everything. Plays both sides too.

In a draft this deep, I am not sure KK moves it for player with 2 years left - as good as Provorov cab be.

Jackets should have interest in Hayes but doubt they want provorov. They will want a Gavrikov type player to fill that role. They have more than enough offensive minded defenseman

already with rumors of Rosy having problems again and the fact he plays 0 defense Hayes is a more complete guy. If we get rid of Rosy and get Hayes for under 5 mill I'm fine with that.
