Description
What I’d like to see at the draft.

#1 Connor Bedard: To no one’s surprise.
#13 Brayden Yager: exciting RHC who models his game after Nate Mac. Loves to attack the offensive from the outside in, opening up the ice for his teammates. Great playmaker potential and excellent skater. Continues the trend of making the team faster.
#19 David Reinbacher: still has a lot of growth to do, but has made huge strides this past year and a half. Awesome mobility for his size and really need a stretch passer like him that harkens back to a hjalmarsson type. Still needs 2-3 years minimum for NHL call up.
#28 Otto Stenberg: great stick handling, speed, and aggression. Love his willingness to forecheck and pressure puck carriers.
#35 Kasper Halttunen: might be off the board for most, but this guy is a playoff style player through and through. Great north south skating, big and aggressive, and a great shot. Causes chaos between and after whistles. Need guys like him to protect the Bedards of the world.

especially after getting bedard, it's time to shift from teardown to building a roster. I say that because Murphy should be a part of the future and be a leader and protector for bedard

I’m just not convinced he’s reliable enough long term. His injury history and lack of consistency over a whole season is very frustrating.

Murphy’s value without ever reaching 20 pts is 13 overall if we receive 35 overall. I have rarely watched him. Is he worth it

The Sabres drafting braintrust is the entire reason for the turn around. Forget what the other goobers say about the Eichel trade being the turn around. They are wrong. The analytics dept with the new scouts have done a full 180 on the drafting and player development that happens in the AHL.

All this to say that, the 13th pick in their hands is worth more than what it may be perceived to be in the open market. So the only reason they should be moving it is if someone is offering a player the Sabres couldnt otherwise draft and develop.

Connor Murphy isn't that guy. Not even close.
