Description

Admittedly have lifted two of these trades from other ACGM's.

Kyle Davidson gets busy over the next 3 weeks leading up to the draft.

OEL + #11 pretty self explanatory. Added Garland to the Hawks for a late 3rd. Seen two different VAN ACGM's today where Garland was traded for a 3rd in one and 4th in another. Can't see him returning more than that.

Pens move Granny off the books for two early 2nd's with the pick value difference of a third 2nd that it most likely costs to move him. If Pens want to keep Granny or buy him out instead, Hawks still have #51 that can be added to the trade instead.

Toronto trade is what it is. Maybe the most frequently posted trade on this site lately. Leafs fans seem split on whether Leafs do this or not. I went with they do. If not, that's fine too.

End result - 5 1st rounders for Kyle to use on night one of the draft. Give the rebuild another big push forward:

#1 - obviously Bedard, duh
#11 - Barlow
#14 - Danielson
#19 - Brindley
#28 - Maxim Strbel (RHD) maybe a bit of a reach but I really like his game

Probably not realistic, but this Hawks fan has confidence in Kyle to get it done!

Only one I don't like is OEL. If Vancouver retained like a million, I would be willing to accept.

As awful as it feels to give up a high pick in this draft for just cap space, if it meant getting rid of OEL’s full contract I might do it. But given how he was reportedly only going to accept a trade to VAN or BOS when he was a Coyote I doubt he waives to go anywhere.

Brindley at 19 is rich for me but depends on who is available I guess. If we have that many picks in that range, I would definitely want one of those picks to be Yager. If the draft board allowed it, I'd like Moore at 11, Yager at 14, and then Musty at 19 for some size.

All in the name of speculation of course.

As much as I would love the Pens 1st, I have to think Dubas doesn't give it up for a cap dump. They have enough cap space to work around it for the time being and this years UFA class doesnt justify it
